Simon Winter (Class Four).

Simon Winter was born in East London; his father died before he was born, and his mother died in childbirth: Simon was sent to a series of drab children’ homes, and was educated in the poor end of the state sector.

While at the National School in Whipps Cross, he became the focus of what appears to have been bullying by a group of four girls, and for some reason he was sent to LCPS as a result; there is probably a lot more to this, but no-one seems to be letting on, least of all Simon.

Otherwise he seems unremarkable; he’s quite good at English and History, but he’s crap at Maths. He boxes, but his dogged persistence is far greater than his ability.

He plays the part of the tough guy, and always wears his Dockers, of which he’s dead proud, and doesn’t seem to be particularly scared of CP – at least he tries to avoid letting his peers see when he is!

Simon is big for his age, and so institutionalised that he fits right into life at LCPS; he’s learned to hide anything he really wants to keep, so he’s also good at his chief occupation within the gang – courier. He considers himself a ‘professional’ and despises those who ‘get whacked for nothing’. He doesn’t act up in class ‘I don’t do nuffing stupid’ is one of his maxims by way of proclaiming general innocence.

He’s got that scathing adolescent cynicism combined with an outer show of cockiness, and he’s highly interested in girls, though he doesn’t have a girlfriend – yet. His heart is probably just about in the right place, but he has got a sadistic streak, which occasionally exhibits itself, often getting him into more trouble.

He is absolutely 100% New School, and determined to be a good gang member, this generally excludes questioning anything his superiors tell him. He accordingly hates Blue Brigade with a passion..
